Started in the afternoon while snow was still falling but snow had stopped by the time I got to the summit. Solo trip, saw no other hikers, so one set of snowshoes out and back over the day's snowfall. Snow was deeper toward summit, got off trail in one place by a blowdown and found a spruce trap, found way back to trail. Did some butt sliding on the steeps on the way back, fresh snow kept me from going too fast. Fairly solid base, a little "lumpy" for short section between rail tracks and Ripley Falls sign. |
