Snowshoes door to door. Followed two snowshoe tracks from the start. Soon passed one, then the second by the ski glades. Broke trail from there on up. 2” new snow at trailhead, 6” midway, and drifts several feet deep up top. Tough to follow the trail in the open area so I ended up going to climbers right to the top of the ski slopes, then to the summit tower. Came down the correct way along the Rim Trail which was majorly drifted. Route finding on descent was much easier. On descent passed 12-15 people going up. Most had snowshoes; a few dolts were rototilling the crap outta the trail. Idiots. |
