Snowshoes are the move.
It's a tale of two trails: the flat walk-in is well-packed, but once you reach the steeps and between the summits, it's fluffy, unpacked powder. The traction and stability of snowshoes let me glide past several struggling bare-booters.
The snow is too soft for spikes to do much. The flat portions were still very packed when I descended, but were starting to get a little choppier.
