Comments
Comments: First on trail at 6 this morning. Started up toward lonesome lake with 2-4 Inches of fresh snow from the parking lot to the hut. Fishin jimmy was the same with occasional drifting as we reached the tent site. Made first tracks all the way out to south kinsman. Along the ridge there is some good sized drifts, especially on the way over to the true summit of south kinsman. Ran into about a dozen people on our way back across the ridge, all in snowshoes resulting in a superb track being set up. As Teal Goat mentioned on our way down fishin jimmy we ran into a group of 3 barebooters as well as a couple others and they had really done some damage that will unfortunately freeze up tonight. The trail down from lonesome lake was a stark contrast from the morning, it had turned into a well packed highway. WEAR YOUR SNOWSHOES PEOPLE, it’s so much better to walk on top of snow vs submarine into it.
