 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Ski resort was in full swing, even when we arrived at 1145. Of note, no matter how tempting it may be to park on the side of the road where it’s marked “Fire Lane”, don’t. We saw tickets on every car we passed in these sections |

 | Comments: |
After months of negative windchills, today felt like a hike in July, and the snow reflected the 34 degrees in full sun. Snowshoes were the name of the game, and we were glad we had them for the unpacked powder and snowballs. The bareboot brigade was out in force, but the too-soft trail got its revenge, as most of those folks looked like they went a few rounds with Mike Tyson after struggle-bussing up 4+ inches of mashed potatoes on the steeps. Fortunately, we encountered an additional 8 snowshoers on the trail, so by the end of the day when the snow squalls kicked in, we had all created a packed trench. Both sides of the loop are broken out. An additional 2 inches or more fell on the trail from the time we left the summit, which helped fill in some of the holes. But the trail is now a superhighway, ready for tonight’s freeze. Get it while it’s good! |
