 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
I am the trail adopter. I set out to brush the overhead stuff that I have trouble reaching without the currently awesome snowpack. I was able to take care of some spots on the west side that have been really bugging me!
There is a new large, awkward blowdown on the east side below the ledges. I delimbed it and it’s rather easy to get over now but it’s going to be difficult to clamber over when the snow melts and will need a chainsaw (USFS) or an axe (hopefully me if they don’t cancel the class like they did last year!). There are two small stepovers near the summit - it was too windy to take care of them today but I will on my next trip!
I am not yet weary of gushing over the new junction sign. :) |

As always my pupper had a blast. She has been with me 5 months and this is her 4th visit to this terrific trail! |

 | Comments: |
I hiked ccw. Snowshoes all the way. The trail is packed out until Allen’s Ledge and then it gets soft enough and deep enough that there are postholes. I followed a postholer and was thrilled to see him and pass him on the East Ledges - the rest of my trip was significantly less tedious. There are a handful of deep postholes near Willow Rock, where the trail got broken out a little wonky, so keep a sharp eye in that section. |
