Well went to a short hike for the windchills the weather was calling for today. We figured to start later for maybe a little warmth and less wind? It was still cold, enough to freeze my eyelashed and face hairs lol . I barebooted until the view and Ann spiked to the view. I then put on snowshoes due to the pitch and she kept her spikes on until sosman trail. There were maybe 20-30 people out today but the famous Hiker Ed and also Rachel and her friend. Saw only 3 others with their snowshoes on and honestly before sosman and the summit spurs needed snowshoes due to the freezing snow became powder and now a mess. Saw 4 skinners and 2 with skis on their backs! I would have today but I was tired. The skinners packed out the bottom 1.5 miles nice and packed for sure!! Nice 4k a day today. Stayed safe with low mileage. |
