Bright, blue sky, sunny, but chilly day. Trails were crusty semi-frozen level pathways. Excellent for microspikes, but too narrow for snowshoes, and would be slippery for bare boots. step off the trail, and boot will go in a foot or more. Only a little wind in the woods, but gusty on open summits. Clear views of Sandwich range, and a few white summits beyond.
A fine day to be out in real winter with excellent friends.
