Comments
Comments: We got several inches of nice new snow last night. It was sunny but around zero degrees today. I started at 12:30 and the trail had been broken out nicely, I saw 3 others all in snowshoes. There was one long annoying section of ducking under branches for quite a ways approaching the cabin. Everyone today had stopped at the cabin so I got to break out the last quarter mile to the summit, which was sort of an off-trail adventure. Drifts were wild up on the ridge, but the snowpack has firmed up a bit so I was only sinking a foot deep off trail. I stepped in one spruce trap but otherwise it was great in the open woods. I stuck to the trail a little more on the way back, a few blazes were visible but it wasn’t necessary to follow them.
