Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The winter parking lot off 302 is very well plowed, plenty of room for lots of cars. Not sure Sawyer River Rd will be opening at all this summer, it is currently closed to snowmobiles from 302 to the summer parking lot, thanks to a big ol' washout that took out half the road.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow - Drifts

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing over Carrigain Brook is a rock-hop now. The water level is pretty low so it isn't too bad.

Comments
Comments: The Signal Ridge Trail is very, very well set, spikes will be fine until ~3500 feet, at which point snow drifts will force snowshoes. It was chilly out to be sure, but with the bluebird sky, I was very surprised for there to only be three total hikers out going to the summit today.

I went up Carrigain first, then struck out on the old forest road towards Signal Ridge Parking Lot Peak during my descent. I turned off the forest road towards the peak from a defined height-of-land. The bushwhack is through nice open hardwoods, with just a small patch of tighter trees just shy of the summit. The snow in the woods was decently supportive; I only sank through past the surface layer a couple of times, but boy was it deep when I did. I did not find any summit cannister. From the summit is was an easy downhill glide through the woods, roughly following a ridgeline, popping back onto the trail just before the road. If you are doing this bushwhack in conjunction with Carrigain, doing it in this order really seems the easier option.

PS, shoutout to whoever was the lone set of showshoe tracks I was breaking trail heading over to Vose; I spotted you going up the Vose Slide from the Carrigain ridgeline.
