Early start today and we were the first people in the Basin parking lot. Headed up to liberty was very solid with small areas of drifting. The water crossing was no issue. Snow shoes are the best choice after the liberty Springs Junction all the way to flume. Between liberty and flume, lots of downed trees, leaning trees major drifting.
As we headed back, our tracks were hard to see due to the high winds erasing them. We were surprised to encounter so many other hikers out there today, 20ish total. Almost everyone was prepared with their snowshoes.
