 | Comments: |
Early start and icy trail conditions resulting from recent thaw and refeeeze.
Microspikes needed for a fun time through the first couple miles of bulletproof ice on the trail. Snow firmed up and became hard styrofoam before Bald Peak. Occasional minor drifts around summits, minimal wind, great views of the lenticular clouds on Franconia Ridge. Met a few people on the trail, this will be well packed and passable easily without any need for crampons today.
Get out there and enjoy! |
