Trails
Trails: Mt. Tecumseh Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, March 9, 2025
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The parking gets tight on the weekends from the ski area but there will always be plenty of parking. You just might have to walk a little extra to get to the trailhead and it’s plowed so I think it’s a worthwhile trade off.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Narrow rock hop right in the start but after that the only small stream crossing on the trail was frozen over.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail was in very good shape after the wind we got all weekend. There was a small blowdown right near the top but it was easy to step over even with snowshoes on.

Comments
Comments: We went up on a pretty perfect day. Clouds didn’t come in until around noon which let us get some pretty good views from the summit. Walking around the top from the top of the ski area to the summit definitely got windy but also definitely not anything extreme. We used microspikes the whole way up and decided to switch to snowshoes for the walk from the summit to top of ski area but they weren’t necessary . The hike could’ve been done with just the spikes easily
