Comments
Comments: Hillsounds all the way. Brought snowshoes and more aggressive Grivel crampons, but didn't end up using them. The trails were firmly packed, with a few exceptions in between the ridges where the snow was a bit looser in spots. There's a lot of snowpack right now, providing some excellent views you don't usually get in the other seasons. The snowpack did make it a little tricky in between the summits on the ridge, with lots of branches right at eye level and spots to duck under.

No need to buttslide down the South summit either - it was packed enough that you can wear Hillsounds and still make it down safely. Only postholed a few times when I stepped off the main tracks. A fabulous day to be out in late winter!
