Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The side of the Kanc by the Pine Bend Brook Trail is fine. There were 12 cars (total of both sides of the road) when I started.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The only one of note (on the Passaconcaway Cutoff, near the Oliverian) was such that you can easily walk across it in your snowshoes. Easy. Good loop to hike, from this standpoint.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: These trails have had some trail love since early December (e.g., the summit of N. Tripyramid), but there are assorted blowdowns here and there that could use some attention once the snow melts.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Mine loved it, and was much better at avoiding spruce traps than I was.

Comments
Comments: I chose to downclimb (in snowshoes) coming off of S. Tripyramid into the top of the slide areas and across them, as the snow was hardpacked and windblown; a misstep would have launched me with adverse results to have been forecasted. Then, once on the Sleeper Trail, there was faint evidence of a recent snowshoer, but the firm, windswept snow made those tracks hard to follow in spots. I definitely lost and re-found the trail half a bazillion times. Ultimately, the prior snowshoer had veered too far south of the east Sleeper, and I wound up bushwhacking for far too long, with two spruce traps sprung en route. If you follow my tracks, you'll eventually make it over to Whiteface (yay!) where things are good again, but I wouldn't wish that scenic route on anyone other than someone I felt needed the torture. I also wound up bushwhacking on the clockwise descent of Passaconaway on the steep stretch. Again, beware. All told, a real doozy.
