Comments
Comments: Today was a very warm day so our main concern was balling up with spikes or snowshoes so we all used traction with anti-balling plates. Two of us used Hillsound Pros the entire way up & back. One of used full crampons on the steeps and barebooted the lower flats. The trail is very well packed but not icy as long as you stay in the center. There are a fair number of old frozen post holes that you need to be careful of. Several other people we meet on the trail were using snowshoes so it's really your choice of traction. On the steepest part full crampons would have made it somewhat easier but I'm sure there are also people who would could do it in microspikes.
