Comments
Comments: Started at 530am. Only car in the lot (not surprising). The dirt lot is an ice-skating rink completely covered in ice so take care of getting out of your car. Up to the shack is a mix ice and dirt. Then the trail turns to a nicely consolidated sidewalk. Took advantage of the low temperatures in the AM which kept the tail sold and made for an easy and fast hike. Chose to wear exo spikes to BaldPeak and then changed into K 10’s for the remainder. The k10s were a little bit of overkill, but I didn’t want balling on my micros. Water crossing were completely iced over and posed no problems. I could see some snowshoe prints where somebody must have gone on a warm day recently because they were sinking a few inches with every step. Didn’t encounter anyone else today.
