 | Comments: |
Trail starting to become a mess with all the recent warm temps and snow melt. Snow was very sticky. Stay very carefully on trail to avoid postholes.
Spikes did not work well as snow balled up under them. Switched to crampons as traction was needed but quickly moved to snowshoes for best option going up very, very steep .7 mile climb to No Hancock. No way to do this bare booted or even with spikes. Slippery and steep also coming down So. Hancock due to lots of butt sliding from others. Kept snowshoes on for descent - very much needed. |
