Great conditions today and great woods to stroll in. Jewell was packed but I still needed snowshoes for Boundary line, then switched to spikes for the road. Plenty of snow but saw no snowmobiles. I hopped into the open woods at the notch sign, floating on top of all the blowdown on a deep snowpack. Mostly open woods after the blowdown in the beginning. I did pass through brief tight woods a few times but avoided most of it entirely on the way back staying more to the north. 2.5 hours up and 1 hour back from the notch, 6 hours total from Ammo lot. I saw lots of moose tracks on Dartmouth. |
