 | Date of Hike: |
Saturday, March 15, 2025 |
 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lot is plowed only enough for 4 vehicles. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Wet/Sticky, Snow - Spring Snow, Snow/Ice - Postholes |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Managed to keep snowshoes on for all crossings. If you have a shorter stride, they will need to come off as many crossings are collapsed and running water. Major crossing two miles in still had an ice bridge, but won't last long in current temperatures. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some blowdowns. Minor, easily passable. |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Soft snow would be difficult for pups now. |
 | Bugs: |
 | Lost and Found: |
A pair of jeans with belt discarded in the middle of the trail 1/2 mile in. Dragged them out given to goodwill. |

 | Comments: |
A barebooter mucked up the trail for a mile or more. Snowshoes are required from the get go. Three hikers preceded me cleaning up the trail in snowshoes, but the rapidly warming tempsand lack of a well established monorail [not monorail] made for a difficult slog back in the afternoon. Broken trail extends to Nancy only. I Broke trail to Norcross, but with time constraints and snow conditions, turned back there. A lovely day in the mountains regardless, with temps at 19C |
