Comments
Comments: Up Ammo with spikes to the LOC hut. Ammo was hardpacked. Then we put on crampons to summit Monroe and then Washington. Mixture of ice and snow. Went down the COG to try and get out of the wind as quickly as possible. Since it's all exposed, we still felt the winds. Oh well, at least it was warmer. The COG path was initially icy and hard packed and then became very soft / spring snow. Despite gusts of over 70 MPH winds on Washington, there were a lot of people hiking and skiing, enjoying the high temps and sunshine. Saw a combination of ice axes, spikes, crampons, and snowshoes. You need to stay in the middle of the trail or you will posthole.
