 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
There are a pair of signs you cannot see going into the summer lot saying NO PARKING. Low and behold, there was a guy from New York stuck in there. We got him out. I ponder if he heard me say keep driving and don't stop until you hit the state line. |

A FINE day for after work vert. Trails in better shape than expected after two days in the sixties and a day of rain. Pretty low bar to surpass. Chris joined for some MAM action- Mutually Assured Misery. Firm and fast still to about 3000 on Hi-Cannon. Still decent going above the ledges. First monorail (YES) visible in the tight conifers. We snowshoed the entire way. I went to the summit tower and got pelted with a very exfoliating ice pellet spray. Post hole Pete somehow got in front of us on the way down went BD (Beaver or balls, we accept all folks here) and really tore the trail up from KRT to just below the ledge. Several knee to thigh high post holes all over the place and its pretty chewed up. Still not terrible, but again it's a pretty low bar for Cannon the brattiest peak of them all. Why wear snowshoes after the weather we had, obviously all thes now has melted. (It hasn't - there's FEET still to be had) 359/366. |
