Comments
Comments: I barebooted roundtrip without issue. That said, there's enough running water on the ledges on the Piper-Whiteface Link that light traction may be warranted if overnight below freezing temperatures result in black ice. Otherwise, the patches of snow/ice are small (they start almost immediately, but are avoidable until the ridge). Overall, very little snow/ice left on this sunny, somewhat-southern exposure route. Some mud down low in the usual spot, but not too bad.

Beautiful spring-like afternoon with temperatures in the low 50s.
