Comments
Comments: Originally planned an out and back on OBP to avoid water crossings, but the water levels at the bridged Walker Brook crossing at the FW/OBP junction looked reasonable, so I decided to give Falling Waters a shot. Falling Waters was in surprisingly great shape early in the morning with cold temps. Spikes all the way up to treeline just below Little Haystack. Ridge is majority bare rock, with some patches of ice, packed snow, and mud. Ice is mostly concentrated on north facing slopes. Was able to bare boot Little Haystack to Lafayette. Greenleaf above treeline was icier than the Ridge, put spikes on/off a few times on the descent. Greenleaf below treeline to the hut, and the upper part of Old Bridle Path were a mess. Spring snow littered with post holes, some chunks of monorail, and enough bare rock that I didn't want to switch to snowshoes. Switched to snowshoes on the lower part of Old Bridle Path once the snow coverage was more consistent
