 | Water Crossing Notes: |
RIP snow bridges. What was solid last week is now gone. Able to rock hop. It would appear the second major crossing of Tecumseh Brook (0.9) had an ice jam above it and let go. There is approx 4-5' sheer walls of snow on the ingress and egress. It's incredibly impressive |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The trail maintainer has begun to get the rocks out of winter storage and put them back on the trail. Nothing of note. The big blowdown above the summit split has been removed |

A FINE morning was had by the BSB crew. Spikes to the view, then snowshoes to summit, then spikes to the car. An astonishing amount of snowpack has been lost since last week's visit only 5 days ago. There is substantially less snow than Cannon. The first 0.75 or so is intermixed rotten rail, bare ground, and ice. The snowpack gradually increases gets higher as you go up. The typical bare spots in shoulder season at 2700 and 2900 have not begun to show up, yet, so there is some snow there. Noted approximately 3-4' of snowpack judging by a sidehill section. Trails very firm this morning, a layer of corn snow atop a frozen base. Inversion going on, 29 at the car, 40 at the summit. A great morning, this brings me to 360/366 for calendar day. Quote of the morning was "Quit singing and start killing!" (Somehow we got to talking about Sweeney Todd) |
