 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The water crossings on ammonoosuc ravine were all easily rock hopped today. The crossing at the gem pool still has a snow bridge, but it is cracked in half. It doesn't look safe to cross on. I crossed on rocks below the snow bridge instead. |

 | Comments: |
There was amazing weather for a hike up to washington and monroe. Ammonoosuc was in OK shape. It was solid, with some postholes on the sides. It wasn't particularly icy. I put on microspikes in the parking lot and kept them on the whole way up. Above treeline there was alot of bare rock with some patches of ice. Monroe had some hard thick ice. Jewell was soft and heavily postholed. I used snowshoe for a little while on the way down but they weren't helpful for very long. There were patches of deep snow and also patches of ice and bare ground. |
