 | Comments: |
Rock spikes from the car to the top of the shrub line. Then bare boots to both summits (spikes for the last 100yd of Adams). Full crampons or Hillsound Pros down from the hut to the car because it was a very warm day and top inch of snow became soft & slippery. Trail is well packed but raised monorail is starting to develop and if you step or slip off the narrow packed path you post hole deep. We didn't feel snowshoes would be helpful despite the deep snow because the packed path is very narrow and rough. It would be very hard to stay on the narrow packed path with snowshoes. [Snowshoes should still be brought due to deep snowpack and changing conditions]. |
