Ammonusuc snow was stable in the morning until we got close to LOC. Then turned to mashed potatoes. Sloppy going up Monroe. Summit was pretty bare.
Crawford path to Washington we bare booted, what snow and ice was very soft by then. Wind was blowing 20-30 on top but much lighter on the Trinity Connector/ Gulfside Trails.
Started down Cog where intersected with Gulfside. Not much snow at first, but where Cog is elevated the road was covered with slippery, mushy snow. Very slow going so we didn't slide down Burt's ravine. Eventually put on snowshoes which were better but still some sliding. Below Waumbek station there was little snow on the right side of the Cog rail. That was much better just walking on bare ground.
