Ah, shoulder season: when a group of us decided to go trail running through a delightful mix of slush, mud, and the occasional unexpected slip off an icy monorail. Snowshoes? Not needed. Post-holing? Inevitable. Every few steps, someone nearly lost a shoe in either snow or a puddle of mud (no connection to the 90s rock band) with a dramatic flail.
The parking lot was a masterclass in strategic vehicle wedging, while the trails provided a free full-body mud treatment with one misstep. The dogs? Pure chaos; sprinting, darting between runners, and enthusiastically rolling in something. So much fun!
We returned cold, filthy, and questioning our choices. But, naturally, we’ll do it all again next week. |
