Comments
Comments: Chose Hale hoping water crossings would be good even with the recent heavy rain fall. It was a good choice. The first crossing was ok. We walked up a bit to cross but had no issues. The second one was still bridged but that won't last much longer with the wet and warmer conditions. The 1st 100 feet of the trail were bare and then we were on a small monorail that gradually became wider. We put on spikes at the start of the monorail and kept them on for the entire hike. There is an area at around mile 1 that is on a slope. This was very soft and hard to navigate. There are a lot of post holes both from bare boots and from snowshoes. The snow is just too soft in areas to support you. The summit was calm. We enjoyed some time at the top and ate lunch. There was a lot of wind at times but not on the summit.
