Snowshoes door to door…3-5” of fresh snow along with some high winds made Jackson a little more difficult than I expected… route-finding (yes!) was put to use when the high winds obliterated any evidence of the trail…most blazes were not visible since the fresh snow was sticking to the trees..the upper “scramble” is still a “walk-up” with the current snow depth..ice holds onto the ledge just below the summit..I’m wondering if this scenario will be playing out this weekend with temps remaining below freezing… the spring/winter battle heats up with winter holding the upper hand today |
