Comments
Comments: Flats down low are mostly snow free with a few small patches of ice. Some mud, but not too bad there.

Steeps are snow free, but there is some mud. I cleaned out a few waterbars, one of which was sending water down the trail (should dry out faster now).

Pockets of snow above the steeps, including a 100 foot or so stretch (flat, so no traction needed). A few patches of snow and mud on the loop.

Dusting of snow up high, but not enough to make an impact. Still some ground frost in places from the cooling temperatures.

Absent some new snow, snowshoes will not be needed on this trail again this spring. That said, if I were heading north (higher elevation) on this range, I'd probably consider bringing them.

Sunny afternoon with temperatures in the 30s and occasional gusty wind.
