Trail was in surprisingly good conditions. Spikes the whole day. We carried snowshoes and saw 2 groups using them along the ridge. They could be useful in the trees along the ridge but then there are also some rocks & bare areas that you would beat up the snowshoes. Many people were leaving snowshoes along the way to pick up on the way back. There are old post holes but unlike other trails I've been on, the packed trail was wide and easy to stay on... except the one time I turned to look back at the magnificent views and stepped off trail :)
