Comments
Comments: The first two miles are flat, lots of stream crossings, nothing major though. The snow is getting really soft for this part of the approach. I couldn’t believe how steep it got after that, wow! This was fine on the way up with televators, but the way down was pretty sketchy with the soft snow, reminded me very much of East Osceola, which I had a bad spring experience with as well. Luckily I finished before it got too melty, early and frozen is key!
The section between middle and south peaks was not nearly as pleasant—lots of potholes, no major packed patch, and a little hard to follow due to blowdowns. Not HORRIBLE, but not as good as the rest. I’d skip this section if I were to do it again. Very limited views on this trail, nothing like the slides loop.

The streams/waterfalls in the first two miles with LOVELY, and that was by far my favorite part of the trail. Beautiful day with temps in the 40’s. Saw one group with a dog around noon.
