 | Comments: |
Red Hill Trail only has a few tiny patches of snow/ice that are easily avoidable. Trail bakes in the sun and drains well (usually one of the first mountain trails in the Lakes Region to thaw each year), so there is not much mud either.
Cabin Trail had a few patches of snow near the cabin, as well as a stretch of monorail not too far from the summit. I was able to bareboot with care, but some may prefer light traction for that stretch (or just wait a few weeks). Some mud on the snowmobile portion (not too bad today due to it freezing).
Still snowpack in the woods on the northern slopes, so the Eagle Cliff Trail may be a shoulder season mess for a few more weeks.
Beautiful sunny afternoon with temperatures in the low to mid 30s. |
