I just want to take a moment to thank the hikers of NH for keeping the surface of this trail in great condition. Majority of the trail was a perfect sidewalk. I was in the Adirondacks last weekend and the trail I hiked was like swiss cheese it had so many postholes. It was okay last weekend with the softer snow and for those of us who were considerate enough to have snowshoes but that trail in the Adirondacks would have been horrible this weekend once it froze.
Anyway more on Tecumseh. Like I said majority was a perfect sidewalk, I assume due to the cold temps last night. Some spotty areas of mud in the first 3/4 or so but otherwise really enjoyable trail conditions. Used micro spikes basically the whole way for fun. Snowshoes did a good job hanging out on my back. Even Sosman trail over to the top of the ski area was incredibly solid- not quite as smooth as the main Tecumseh trail but no postholing. Record time up and down due to the conditions. |
