 | Comments: |
Took advantage of the cold snap to hike this loop. Ascended North Hancock first because I had a bad experience descending from North on a previous winter hike. It was a mistake! Descent from the South peak, while relatively short, is very steep and I had to creep down it (with microspikes) over loose, fresh powder with occasional blue ice underneath. All I could think about was how fast I would end up sliding if I fell, and how hard the tree would be that stopped me. But happily I survived to bring you this report! |
