Comments
Comments: Bare trail & bare boot to start.. dry with some muddy spots to easily get around. Fresh powder over ice/hardpack short distance in, sent it with microspikes remainder of the hike. Minimal snow depth but more so on the ridge to Waumbek, some flurries came.. not sure it will accumulate to anything more but the snowshoes went for a ride, hikers choice for this section. No post-holing today, though some old frozen ones off trail. Snow got sticky coming out from the trees & on the way back, some snow balls on spikes. Just past the closed summit for Waumbek is a viewpoint of the presi’s .. worth the minimal effort to get there if for some reason it wasn’t already on your agenda. I can assure you the ridge from there absolutely has not been traveled if you had planned to go any further.
Happy Trails & Safe Hiking !
