Comments
Comments: 19 Mile brook Trail was in good shape. Crusty ice/snow down low. Started in microspikes. We put our snowshoes on after the 2 water crossings above the 1st junction. I love my televaters and I’d rather have my snowshoes on my feet than on my back. We opted to see the hut and walked across the frozen pond. Not a sole around. The only tracks going up Wildcat A were bare boosters. 3-5 “ of new snow fell the night before and snowshoes were the best option imo. The side hill sections were tough as there wasn’t a nice snowshoe track. The blowdowns were worse on the upper section and tough to get around. We welcomed the sun as we approached the summit. No real issues across the ridge. Nice amount of new snow made the snowshoeing pretty easy. I hope someone was out there today to take advantage of our tracks. It’s not going to last long. We used our butt sleds down polecat. Plenty of snow on the ski slope and well groomed made for and easy descent.
