Comments
Comments: A fine day in the Berkshires on Tuesday. I only saw maybe 6 other people up there once I got to the summit. Surprised to see a car on the auto road, which still had large patches of snow. Snowshoes were not carried as I checked the GNARmap site and saw nothing for the area. There was snow up near the summit in the shade, but it could mostly be avoided. I’d still bring spikes for this time of year, but I didn’t use them. It was chilly with the wind all day, so no melting. I enjoyed the views in various directions and walked a loop around on the auto road. I made it down in about an hour. Surprisingly the 8.6 mile hike with 2400 feet of gain took me only 2:44, even with a break at the top.
