easy day on Mount Pemigewasset. Bare booted the entire way, maybe could have done microspikes on the way down but didn't need them. The main section of the trail is solid enough that I didn't even worry about postholing. Trail starts with patchy snow/slush and mud and then transitions to all softer snow - but still hard enough to be a solid footing. I could see this trail getting a bit sketchier when some of this stuff freezes but today it was fine. All water crossings are running nicely but are easy to cross. No views today but slabs at the summit are bare. |
