Comments
Comments: Amazing fast conditions today. Everything froze overnight and it stayed cool and cloudy today. Snowshoes weren’t needed on trail, but I did use them off trail, though it was very solid there too. I went up to Tom first, then from Tom spur junction I aimed straight for West Field, made it there in 45 minutes. Forgot to sign in the canister. Then I headed generally towards Willey and met the trail about halfway between Field and Willey. Hung out for lunch with the jays and a fine view with no wind. On the way back I decided to bushwhack from Field summit down to Willard, which was good going until I hit a cliff band at 2800 feet that took some searching to find a route down by grabbing trees, but I found a way. On Willard trail there’s still snow top to bottom and I saw one person made it up without spikes but I don’t recommend that.
