Corn snow was rough on pup's paws, some minor abrasions from the downhill. Had to let the dog find her own path around some icy faces, especially near the summit. |

 | Comments: |
Some standing and running water after rain the previous day, then freezing. Ice over running water occasionally degraded - broke through if not attentive. Ice requiring microspikes in many places, but interspersed with muddy and rocky areas. Definitely needed to exercise care. Dog with us - she needed to find her own way around some icy faces, especially one in the last push before the summit - humans bushwhacked around. Softening of snowy and icy areas on the way down added to the slippery conditions. A good workout, great views - but not the most pleasant of conditions. |
