Difficult crossing stream on Weetamoo trail. Minor slip into the stream due to ice on rocks. |

Mixed conditions - some dry trail, some ice, some fresh snow covering. The variation made it difficult, and I had a few minor slips without injury. I found a good balance by using microspikes on one foot, until above treeline where the rock was more exposed. Postholing was rare, and there were a few knee-deep drifts near the summits.
Excellent weather and views with sunny skies, but plenty of snow on the trees. |
