Comments
Comments: All these trails are in excellent condition by April standards. Lincoln Woods is a mix of patchy mud, ice, and frozen slush. The patchy theme continues past Black Pond with on again off again leaves and packed down snow. Lincoln Brook is more consistent packed snow except for the drainages which are just muddy. I barebooted halfway up Brutus then switched to hillsounds. There is a layer of blue ice here hidden under a dusting of sticky snow which made it a bit slick. The summit area is surprisingly in good condition. I only saw one spruce trap and the trail is solid. Granted it was below freezing at elevation today so keep that in mind. A few mild days and this will all change
