Fantastic conditions early this morning. Moosilauke had seen somewhere ranging from 2-6 inches of very wet snow yesterday which had been packed pretty well by yesterday’s hikers. We wore spikes until 3500’ but they were balling terribly so we switched to shoes for the rest of the day and they worked awesome. Enough snow on summit cone to leave them on. The sketchy side hill on the final switchback has filled in with snow since last morning th and currently is not sketchy. Still a ton of snow at elevation and even enough snow on the road walk to wear snowshoes which we saw a few people doing. Still full winter on Moosilauke! |
