After last night’s snow, the only significant ice was between the trailhead water crossing and the first real water crossing. You can definitely see the ice just below the summit, at the switchback, and you can see where people previously slid out there, but the overnight evebt dropped 2-3” on the upper part of the Mt Tecumseh trail, and it is really grippy. Rock spikes door to door; my snowshoes and my sharp Hillsounds went for a ride. There is still significant snow above the view turnpoint (1.3 miles in) so I do not regret bringing along my snowshoes - you never know.
We saw more dogs today than I can remember seeing on a hiking trail recently! This is a great route for dogs! |
