Tried to hit all the trails in the weeks state park. Around the Mountain had many significant wet/muddy sections; was helpful to have poles to balance while avoiding. At least 2 large blow downs between the ski hill and the Old Carriage trail (on the Heritage trail section of Around the Mountain). Some work on one, but must have been very recent since there is very little signs of a bypass at this time. Old Carriage trail was basically in a stream bed with lots of water flow. There are renovations underway in the summit lodge and the entire area is roped off. Took the Nature Trail to the tower to avoid construction. Multiple locations for great views even with todays low cloud cover. |
