 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Many many blowsdowns and debris scattered along the ridge between Martha and Owls Head. Will need the snow to melt a little more before work can be done. We were able to walk around most and refind the trail due to fabulous trail markings with yellow blazes. |

 | Comments: |
Snow present around 2k feet elevation. No real monorail, just packed dirty snow with patches of gray and black ice. Definitely need spikes. Walk on snow with caution, as now with warmer weather the post holing possibility is real and random. I sunk in to my knee on one leg mid stride 3 times. One very sketchy section near the top of Owls Head that was a brown ice frozen waterfall coming off the corner of the large borders. We decided not to go down it and instead continued over Owls Head and endured the rt 115 road walk. I was concerned for my dog and me and my partners safety navigating a safe way down it. Needless to say, I'm sure others would be fine, we just chose to try a different route. All in all, nice day. Has a decent view of the Presidential range from Martha Summit. |
