It was a tough day on the trail. The 1 water crossing was fine. We met up with another hiker on the summit. He had passed us on the way up but we arrived at the summit first. He did not take the bushwhacks. He said the water was very high on the other trail which was evident as his pants were quite wet. He came down with us via the BW's. Rocky Branch started off dry then had off and on monorails. Once you hit the BW's, the snow required snowshoes to keep from postholing, though even with the snowshoes, some postholing was inevitable as the monorail is deteriorating. The trail was very wet and muddy in parts. It can be hard to follow the path in the BW's as the snow has melted so the tracks disappear. Make sure you have some type of navigation support. We had a lot of scratches from the BW's. We should have worn long sleeve shirts. The BW's will not be viable much longer as the weather continues to warm up. MT: 8:53, TT:10:31
